San Mateo County Has Say on Runways

Although residents of San Mateo County have voiced frustration with their inability to have a say in San Francisco International Airport’s planned runway expansion, California State law does provide that prior to acquisition of land by San Francisco for purpose of expanding or enlarging the airport, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors must “upon notice, conduct a public hearing on such plan, and shall thereafter approve or disapprove the plan.”
