Political team members had the following recent successes and actions:

  • Evaluated candidates in local, state, and Congressional races, helping environmental candidates to victory with endorsements and grassroots support and successful candidates are already making a difference by defeating misguided coastal development efforts, enacting open space protections, and protecting wildlife. How did we do?

  • Hosted discussion forums with our elected representatives on trade and land use issues.

  • Supported candidates through phone banks and precinct walking.

  • Have fun while making your mark with only a modest contribution of your time.

Opportunities for involvement include:

  • Participating in the endorsement process for national and state elections ranging from city council races to US congressional elections.

  • Advancing the club's conservation agenda through regular communication meetings with local, state, and national legislators.

  • Educating legislators and public on critical environmental issues in the Bay Area. Issues include forestry, air and water quality, endangered species, habitat and open space protection, and energy conservation.

Let's make a difference together!
